University Christian High School will begin the 2019 boys soccer season under the guidance of Cody Miller, the new head coach for the program, according to a press release from the school.
Miller will assume the reins of the Barracuda following the resignation of Trevor Lauber who has relocated to Oregon for a new career opportunity, the release said.
The transition from Lauber to Miller should be an easy one as both are graduates of Hickory High School and were members of the vaunted Red Tornadoes soccer program, the release said.
Miller is a 2009 Hickory High graduate and played four years at Hickory High School as well as competing in the program at Catawba Valley Youth Soccer Association.
“Cody’s experience as a player in a program that competed at an extremely high level will be a valuable asset as he takes over the University Christian High School program,” Jeff Taylor, athletic director at University Christian High School, said. “Cody is a young man with a strong work ethic and family background. He will be a tremendous addition to the University Christian High School athletic program and we welcome him to the Barracuda family.”
