The Catawba Valley Community College softball program has added another prospect to its first-ever recruiting class after signing North Davidson’s Erin Cole, according to a press release from CVCC Athletics.

“Our softball program is excited to have a player like Erin,” Red Hawks coach Josh Bumgarner said via the release. “She comes from a softball family and a softball school, so we are thrilled to have her on board.”

A senior outfielder, Cole has played in 14 games this season, batting .625 with a .727 on-base percentage and an .812 slugging percentage. She’s tallied 11 runs, 10 hits, 15 RBIs and three doubles this spring.

Her play has helped the Black Knights go unbeaten so far this season with a 24-0 record, including an 18-0 mark in Central Carolina 2A Conference play. North Davidson is the No. 3 seed in the NCHSAA 2A state playoffs that began Tuesday night.

Cole joins former Alexander Central standouts Chesney Millsaps and Kelsea Dejarnette, along with former West Iredell player Katelyn McClure, on the Red Hawks’ roster. CVCC begins play next spring and will immediately be eligible for championship contention.
