Lenoir-Rhyne’s Talon LaClair has been selected to the CoSIDA Google Cloud Academic All-American third team, according to a press release from LRU Athletics.
LaClair, a sophomore shortstop from Statesville, recorded a 4.0 GPA and is majoring in mathematics. Her performance in the classroom earned her a spot on the South Atlantic Conference Commissioner’s Honor Roll as well as the Lenoir-Rhyne President’s List. Additionally, she became a member of the Chi Alpha Sigma Honor Society and frequently volunteered her time with various organizations.
On the field, LaClair was named to the SAC all-conference second team as well as the All-Southeast Region second team. She led the Bears with a .414 batting average, .481 on-base percentage, 15 doubles and 44 RBIs. In addition, she finished the season with three home runs and 33 runs scored as Lenoir-Rhyne ended the year with a 26-19 record.
