BURLINGTON Mrs. DeLona Marie Parrish Hill, 96, of Burlington, passed away at her home, with her family at her side, Wednesday, June 12, 2019, at 6:49 p.m. A native of Alamance County, she was the wife of the late Grover Cleveland Hill Jr. and the daughter of Delancie Leo Parrish and Katie Webster Parrish, both deceased. She was a retired textile employee and a member of the Women of the Moose. Mrs. Hill was a member of Northside Presbyterian Church and the Northside Women's Circle. Survivors include two granddaughters, Christine Hill Garner and husband, Eric, of Vale, and Tracy J. Spoon of Burlington; grandson, Scott Hill and wife, Ellen, of Liberty; four great-grandchildren, Bradley James Spoon, Joshua Adam Garner, Kayla Nichole Garner and Jeanna Denton; two great-great-grandchildren, Joshua Denton Jr. and Nathan Denton; daughter-in-law, Nina Hill of Snow Camp; and her special companions, Missy and Susie. Mrs. Hill was preceded in death by a daughter, Leesonia H. Jones; son, Howard Lewis Hill; three grandsons, John Michael Durham, Matthew Lee Hill and Steven David Hill; and one great-grandson, Joshua Lynn Denton Sr. The funeral service will be conducted at the Rich & Thompson Chapel in Burlington Saturday, June 15, at 2 p.m. by the Rev. Jim Mitchell, with the family receiving friends from 1 to 2 p.m., prior to the service. Burial will follow in Pine Hill Cemetery. At other times, the family will be at the residence.
