The Taylorsville teen accused of stabbing a man in the head and neck Monday night is now facing an attempted murder charge.
According to an Alexander County Sheriff’s Office press release, Jonathan Andrew Johnson’s bond was raised to $1.25 million on Wednesday. He was initially charged with assault with a deadly weapon with intent to kill or inflict serious injury and held under a $250,000 secured bond.
The 19-year-old is suspected of stabbing 20-year-old Taylorsville resident Darion Campbell several times in the head and neck. Campbell told police that Johnson stabbed him after they got in an argument with each other, according to previous reports.
Officers responded around 8:15 p.m. Monday and found Campbell injured along Liledoun Road not far from Johnson’s home.
