Two Stony Point residents arrested on drug charges

Two Stony Point residents were arrested on drug charges Sunday.

The Alexander County Sheriff’s Office responded to a residence on York Road in the Stony Point community of Alexander County, according to a press release from the sheriff’s office.

Linda Marie Barker, 53, of Stony Point was charged with felony possession of a controlled substance, misdemeanor possession of a controlled substance, two counts of misdemeanor possession of drug paraphernalia and failure to appear.

Barker was placed under a $20,000 secured bond.

Michael James Morgan, Jr., 30, of Stony Point was charged with misdemeanor possession of drug paraphernalia and placed under a $1,500 secured bond.

The Alexander County Sheriff’s Office assisted Probation and Parole in a search of the residence, due to occupants of the household being on probation, according to the release.
