Annual Red White and Blue Festival

Morganton will hold the annual Red, White and Blue Festival this weekend. The 3-day event includes 12 bands performing live music, a free kids zone, beer and wine garden and many food vendors. For additional information, visit

Newton Movies in the Park

The Newton Recreation Department invites you to its annual Movies in the Park event series. “Aquaman” will be shown this week. Popcorn is free thanks to the local businesses and organizations who sponsor the event. Drinks and snack concessions will be available for purchase. July 4th Celebration with Conover Farmer’s Market

Alexander County Independence Day Celebration

Fireworks, food, music and fun will highlight the annual Independence Celebration in Alexander County. The event will feature live music at the Alexander County Courthouse Park from 7-9 p.m., and a variety of food vendors will be on hand as well. CVM Car Meet

The Catawba Valley Muscle (CVM) will hold their monthly car meet. The public is invited to come out and enjoy hot rods, classic cars and more. Music will be available, along with a 50/50 raffle and a first and second place people’s choice awards. For more information, contact 828-308-9985.
