An early morning traffic stop on Friday led to the seizure of nearly 50 grams of methamphetamine and the arrest of an 18-year-old.
A Catawba County Sheriff’s deputy pulled over a vehicle in the area of N.C. Highway 127 and Deerfield Road in Hickory around 1:30 a.m. The driver was identified as Christian Allen Michael Keller, according to a sheriff’s office press release from Monday.
The deputy found 45.4 grams of meth in Keller’s possession as well as a set of digital scales. Keller was arrested, taken to Catawba County Detention Center and placed under a $50,000 secured bond, the release said.
According to Catawba County’s Who’s in Jail? website, the teen is charged with meth trafficking, possession of drug paraphernalia and resisting a public officer.
