A license checkpoint at the intersection of Houston Mill Road and Swinging Bridge Road in Conover led to the arrest of a man for possessing a stolen gun by the Catawba County Sheriff’s Office, according to a press release.
According to the release, officers set up the checkpoint on Wednesday in response to numerous reports of breaking and entering of vehicles in the area.
Officers recovered a stolen firearm and arrested Jonathan William Rosenbaum, 45, of Houston Mill Road, who was also charged with driving while license revoked, during the checkpoint operation. According to an arrest report from Sunday, Rosenbaum was arrested at his home on Sunday night for outstanding warrants for driving while license revoked and felony larceny.
The sheriff’s office also cited Catalina Herrera Macias, Logan Nickolas Royster, Jose De Jesus Barcena Martinez, Edith Mercado Matias and Francisco Munoz Estrada for driving without possessing their license.
