Hickory High School celebrated the first inductees to the French Honor Society before the end of the 2018-19 school year.

The school established a chapter of the organization last year. The honor society’s first inductees were recognized at a French-themed ceremony that included paintings, a mural and café music.

French teacher Heidi Rice organized the ceremony.

Students received individual awards for their proficiency with the French language, strong character and potential for future success.

Seniors in the society were given honor cords for graduation while all inductees received membership certificates.

Publix provided refreshments at a reception following the ceremony.
