The city of Newton will be seeking residents’ input on the future of the city this month in a series of meetings to discuss updates to the city’s strategic plan.
Newton first adopted a strategic plan in 2015 following discussions with residents and business owners. The city has implemented many of the recommendations of the 2015 plan.
Colt Jensen, a city intern currently working on his master’s degree in public administration from Appalachian State University, is leading the process.
Other contributing organizations include the firm Creative Economic Development Consulting and the Newton Business Advisory Committee, which is the steering committee for the process.
The city hired Creative Economic Development using a grant from ElectriCities.
All meetings will take in the Gantt Room at Newton City Hall, located at 401 North Main Ave.
