HICKORY — Family Care Center of Catawba Valley will host its fourth annual Second Chance Silent Auction & Brunch fundraiser on Saturday, March 23, beginning at 10 a.m. The event will take place at First Presbyterian Church in downtown Hickory.
Chef Jeremy Harwell of Charlotte will prepare the buffet-style brunch that is part of the fundraiser. Tickets are $10 each and available by calling Family Care Center at 828-324-9917, online at www.familycare-center.com or you may purchase at the door.
The public is welcome to attend the event that will feature hundreds of silent auction items including new furniture, lamps, vacation homes, attractions, gift certificates for services and restaurants, jewelry and much more. New furniture donations include Ethan Allen, Lane, Sherrill’s, CR Laine, Vanguard, Good’s Home Furnishings, Hickory Park, Century Furniture, Mitchel Gold + Bob Williams, Sun Belt Freight, Zenith Freight Line, Williams Sonoma and Lee Industries. All proceeds benefit the operations of Family Care Center.
Former guests will speak about their stay Family Care Center and how it impacted their lives. Family Care Center serves homeless families with dependent children through an emergency residential program and provides emotional, educational, social and physical support as families stabilize, work, save and transition towards permanent housing.
