Two women were charged with marijuana counts after a traffic stop Friday night on Amity Hill Road.

Celena A. Nilo, 39, of Stony Point and Jennifer D. Lytton, 30, of Statesville were charged with possession of marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia. They were cited and released.

Sgt. C.L. Stone of the Iredell County Sheriff’s Office Aggressive Criminal Enforcement team (ACE) stopped a 2011 Honda around 11 p.m. Friday.

Stone said he detected an odor of marijuana but both the driver and occupant denied having any marijuana.

Stone said he found a bag of marijuana in Nilo’s pants pocket and two bags of marijuana, a marijuana cigarette and rolling papers in Lytton’s pocketbook.
