COMMENTARY: Hunter Harvey's journey begins with Thursday's draft

CATAWBA, N.C. – There’s a very good chance the bright lights of New York eventually await Bandys High’s Hunter Harvey – Yankee Stadium and Citi Field come to mind – but for now he’s staying true to his roots.

Rather than accept an offer to be one of the probable early picks present at the televised Major League Baseball amateur draft that begins at 5 p.m. on Thursday afternoon in the big city, Harvey opted out so he could enjoy his biggest baseball moment (at least to date) with his family.
