51-year-old man arrested for backyard drug operation in Hickory

HICKORY N.C. -- A Hickory man is in jail on charges of manufacturing and trafficking methamphetamine following a Thursday afternoon drug bust.

Narcotics investigators checking on an anonymous tip alleging drug activity at a house at 1275 22nd Street, NE, arrested James Kent Booth, 51, of Hickory, at the home. Booth was the only person arrested although there were other people at the house when police arrived, said Capt. Reed Baer.
