HICKORY NC – People who lost money in an investment scam operated by Conver’s J.V. Huffman might soon get some money back. Distributions of between 10 and 15 percent on the dollar are likely in January 2014, Walt Pettit said. Pettit’s law firm was appointed as receiver for the case by federal judge Richard Voorhees.
J.V. Huffman bilked investors out of an estimated $25 million over a 17-year period. He was arrested and charged in Nov. 2008. He is currently imprisoned in the Mountain View Correctional Institution in Spruce Pine.
