CONCORD, N.C. – Police have identified two people shot to death at a Concord home Tuesday afternoon.
Sharon Cook Crumitie, 55, and James Luther Blanks, 49, were found shot to death in the garage of Crumitie’s home at 482 Gibson Drive NW, Concord. Police are still trying to learn the permanent address for Blanks.
A third person, Timothy Lavaun Crumitie, 47, also of 482 Gibson Drive NW, was taken to CMC-NorthEast, where he received treatment for injuries and has since been released.
Timothy and Sharon Crumitie are husband and wife, according to police.
The initial report made by Timothy Crumitie to police states that he and his wife were in the garage of their home and were shot by an unknown assailant, according to a press release.
Timothy Crumitie told police he struggled with the assailant after being shot and was able to overcome the attacker and take control of the weapon, according to the press release.
Timothy Crumitie told police he then shot the assailant before calling 911.
Police later identified Blanks as the assailant and are currently investigating to determine any connection between Blanks and the Crumities.
Concord Police and emergency medical personnel were dispatched at about 3:15 p.m. Tuesday to 482 Gibson Dr. NW in Concord to investigate a report of a shooting that had just occurred. Officers found three victims suffering from apparent gunshot wounds.
On Tuesday, man in handcuffs was taken away from the scene by police, but authorities did not release any information on a suspect or an arrest.
